Explore Piatra Craiului Mountain - Day trekking tour
Piatra Craiului Mountains are a jewel of nature with a spectacular landscape variety. They are part of Bucegi Mountains in the Southern Carpathians, and are shaped like a narrow saw-like ridge made out of crystalline limestone, oriented North-East to South-West.
Their highest elevation is Piscul Baciului at 2,238 m which goes down to 1,900 m towards the extremities of the ridge. Piatra Craiului Mountains are covered with broadleaf and coniferous forests and alpine vegetation on their highest peaks.
Garofita Pietrei Craiului (Dianthus callizonus) is a beautiful hot pink flower that can be found in Romania only in these mountains, and it blooms in July - August. On the steep slopes in Piatra Craiului tourists can often spot the chamois (Rupicapra rupicapra) hopping here and there.
There are also quite a number of hiking and climbing trails which we invite you all to explore along with us. The trails will be chosen to match the tourists’ physical fitness and technical abilities.
